Achievement – On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Mohammed Al-Hayari, sponsored the Jordanian Society for Desertification Control & Badia Development (JSDCBD) celebration of Tree Day, held this morning, Saturday, at the Dr. Abdul Latif Arabiat Center for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development in Um Rummaneh.
In his speech, Eng. Mohammed Al-Hayari emphasized the importance of afforestation and supporting all efforts to raise awareness in this field, especially among youth, national institutions, and other relevant parties. He also highlighted the official and national focus on expanding and preserving green areas in Jordan and the Ministry’s plan for numerous afforestation and reforestation projects.
Eng. Hassan Jabr, President of JSDCBD, highlighted the society’s efforts in environmental protection and sustainable development in collaboration with partners, serving both the community and the country.
The celebration included participation from local community members, supporting institutions, school students, and community initiatives.
JSDCBD plans to expand its activities in the coming months by increasing the area planted with forest trees at the Dr. Abdul Latif Arabiat Center and attracting support from donors to implement a series of development projects for 2025.
