
Minister of Environment Chairs the First Meeting of the National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

The first meeting of the National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) was held yesterday, Wednesday, at the Ministry of Environment. The committee was formed pursuant to a Cabinet decision, chaired by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Muawieh Al-Radaideh, with the attendance of Her Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein and the IUCN members represented in the committee.
In his speech during the meeting, Al-Radaideh welcomed Her Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein and the represented members, and reviewed the Cabinet decision approving the formation of the committee, appreciating the decision for the prominent role this committee will play in taking measures, preparing plans, and establishing work mechanisms for the protection and conservation of nature.
Al-Radaideh also added that the formation of the National Committee for IUCN will significantly contribute to strengthening and unifying national efforts in protecting nature, sustaining its resources, and coordinating cooperation and work mechanisms with the IUCN.
Her Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein thanked the Ministry of Environment and the represented members for their efforts and active role in protecting nature and biodiversity.
